We are thrilled to announce we have appointed three new staff to work on the Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs project.
Sean Madden has taken on the role of Employment Coordinator. Sean brings vast experience to the role, most recently working as the Manager of the NCTIR Village. His work is focussed in two areas - employers and job seekers. Sean is currently meeting job seekers to establish work and training goals; engaging with employers to work out what their needs are, and putting these two groups together. You can reach Sean on 027 372 2248.
Rosie Poharama-Hepi is our new Youth Employability Facilitator. Rosie has a huge passion for working with youth and a warm, natural manner for connecting with others. We have a new Youth Employability Programme starting up early in 2021 - talk to Rosie if you are interested in finding out more, 027 201 7638.
Renee Wood is available to support with driver licences and driving skills. Renee is able to work one on one or in groups to teach the theory of the learner licence test, support people to progress through their licence, arrange driver mentoring and defensive driving courses. Get in touch with Renee on 027 371 9240.
As part of the MTFJ programme, we are offering various short courses such as First Aid and Barista. We also help participants put together CV's.
For employers, there can be financial support from the programme to help with training, equipment etc. We also have a lot of information about various support available from the Ministry of Social Development (Work and Income) when taking on new employees - such as Mana in Mahi, Apprenticeship Boost, Flexi-wage.
